A reminder that dogs should be on a lead at all times

Dog owners are being reminded to keep their dog on a lead at all times whilst the current restrictions are in place.

One owner recently didn’t follow this advice and an incident followed when another dog was bitten which resulted in nasty injuries and a visit to the vet meant the dog had to undergo surgery. It was also an extremely upsetting experience for the owner.

HOW TO GET A TEST IF YOU’VE GOT CORONAVIRUS SYMPTOMS

“Dogs on leads at all times”

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “The vast majority of dog owners always act responsibly but I was made aware of this incident recently and have offered advice to those concerned.

“All owners are being reminded to keep their dogs on leads at all times and to exercise social distancing when taking them on walks. Please be responsible for your dog in order to prevent any similar incidents in the future.”

North Wales Police also have some very useful advice about responsible dog ownership on their website. Please take the time to read it, particularly if you are considering buying a dog.
