Don’t miss your bin collection – put it out early

Last year we made big changes to our recycling service so we could recycle more and to make our rounds more efficient.  During these changes you were great and it worked.  Our rounds became more efficient and we hit a fantastic 68% recycling for the first time!

We’re going to make these changes from the 4 September and the only change that you may see is the time of day your recycling is collected. It is very important that you place your waste and recycling out for collection by 7.30 am on your normal collection day from 4 September.“changes have been made to improve efficiency”

We’ve now reviewed all the changes we made, particularly the amount of vehicles we have on our rounds, and we’ve found we can make more improvements by reducing the total number of recycling vehicles used.

We’re going to make these changes from the 4 September and the only change that you may see is the time of day your recycling is collected.

It is very important that you place your waste and recycling out for collection by 7.30 am on your normal collection day from 4 September.

If you do you can be sure that your collection will not be missed.

“changes have been made to improve efficiency”

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for the Environment and Transport, said:

“Your help and support with our recycling efforts has been brilliant and I would like to thank you all for that. This change we are making will only affect the time of day collections are made so it is very important that from 4 September you put your waste and recycling out for collection by 7.30 on your normal bin day.  There are no changes to your collection day and these changes have been made to improve efficiency.”

If you never want to miss a bin collection in the future you can sign up for bin day collection reminders on the link below.  By signing up you will receive an email alert the day before your waste and recyclables are due to go out.
