Good news for kids … and parents … as holidays are here!

As the summer holidays approach there’s lots planned for young people to keep them busy.

Firstly there’s the fantastic playwork provision that puts children’s right to play in the community at the very top of their agenda. They are available across the county and are staffed by trained playworkers. The sessions are free and are aimed at letting children feel confident about playing in their communities where they live and where they can sometimes face barriers to playing outside.

Take a look at the video at the top of this page to find just what they can get up to. The only guarantee is that they’ll have fun and probably get a bit mucky!

SPOTTED FLY TIPPING? REPORT IT QUICKLY AND EASILY HERE.

You can find out more about the play provision here

Details of where the play provision will be throughout the holidays is available here

In addition to the playwork provision you can always keep up to date with what’s going on by following our social media pages:

Or get your free copy of the summer Hholiday events guide which gives details of what’s going on in our country parks, libraries, museum, Tŷ Pawb and other providers by emailing fis@wrexham.gov.uk

Free swimming will also be taking place in Freedom Leisure Centres and you can find out the details here

“Be prepared to get wet and messy”

And don’t forget Play Day, the day when children take over the town centre and have a brilliant time just playing. Organised by our Play Team we’re always more than happy to turn the town centre over to them so the more the merrier – be prepared to get wet and messy though and old clothes and perhaps even a change of clothes will be needed.

Enjoy the holidays and please keep an eye on what’s going on – lots of events are for free but if not they’re usually pretty reasonable and you just pay for materials.
