Gwersyllt Community Resource Centre will be closed from Monday, June 23, 2025 for approximately two weeks. If you use the centre, make sure you read on to find out what this means for you…
The centre will close so that work can be carried out on the floor in the hallways and corridor to make sure that both the surface and underfloor heating are functional for years to come.
The floor and heating were installed 18 years ago when the centre first opened. Since then the level of footfall at the centre has meant that the floor has recently shown signs of wear and tear that are a safety concern when using the building.
Gwersyllt Community Resource Centre is also home to a number of other services and businesses, which will also be affected during this time. These are:
- Gwersyllt Library – closed, visit our website to find your nearest branch library
- Gwersyllt Housing Estate Office – will remain open for home visits, emails and telephone calls. Payments can be made either by telephone 01978 315680 or online
- Gwersyllt Community Council – you can still contact them at gwersylltcommunitycouncil@outlook.com
- Emma Simms Holistic Therapy – open as normal via own separate entrance
Staff have contacted the community groups that take place at the centre, but if you are part of a group and are unsure what is happening during the two-week closure, please contact the organiser for more information.
Cllr Beverley Parry-Jones, lead member for corporate and customer services, said: “Carrying out this work now avoids a costly full replacement in the future, so thank you to everyone for your patience while this is being done. We look forward to welcoming everyone back, once the work is complete.”
