Tuesday, October 17 marked our first ‘Help a Ranger Day’, which gave volunteers the chance to get hands on with the maintenance of Alyn Waters Country Park.
The first of a series of practical volunteering activities, Help a Ranger Days will alternate between our parks and take place on different days of the week, allowing everyone across the county to get involved in their nearest one.
Each event will be different, depending on the weather, season and the jobs at hand. A ranger will be there to guide you through the tasks and how maintenance works in the parks. It’s a rewarding way to get involved, meet new people and learn new skills.
While some of these events may be near a café or facilities to buy food and drink, bringing a packed lunch and drink is highly advisable. You should also come prepared in suitable clothing such as long trousers, sturdy shoes and a raincoat.
