New path now links Erddig Country Park, Marchwiel and the Clywedog Trail

Our Public Rights of Way section has been busy restoring a path that now links Erddig Country Park, Marchwiel and the Clywedog Trail.

The 30 metre path now includes new and easy to use pedestrial gates and a  10 metre footbridge.

The path had been neglected for some time with no visible route evident on the ground and following discussions with the National Trust it was agreed that a long term solution was needed to tackle poor drainage.

An old pipe crossing damaged during Storm Ciara in 2020 had to be removed from Gyfelia Brook before work on the new footbridge could begin.

MarchwielNow complete the path forms part of a circular walking route which links the surrounding countryside with Erddig Country Park, Marchwiel and the Clywedog Trail.

We hope you’ll enjoy the improved public right of way and the beautiful area that’s part of this Site of Special Scientific Interest.
