Let’s face it, there’s not too many jobs where you get to work around some of the most important moments in people’s lives on a daily basis, but in this case you can.

That’s because we’re looking for a Registration Officer to work in our Legal Democratic and Registration Services.

It’s a permanent position, working 30 hours per week.

Duties will include registering births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships and some citizenship work.

Attesting notices of marriage and civil partnerships, along with conducting a wide range of other ceremonies will also form part of the role and responsibilities.

What we’re looking for

You will have achieved a good standard of education and have experience of working in a customer-focused environment.

You should be confident with public speaking, be able to follow technical/statutory instructions and ideally have a working knowledge of statutory regulations for births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships.

This is a Welsh desirable post, so if you have a good command of the Welsh language that would help your chances, although this is not essential.

Flexibility, attention to detail and accuracy are also key factors to this post.

A full driving licence and access to a car is essential as you must be able to travel to other venues when required.
