Sub-zero temperatures are likely to remain over the next few days – take care driving (avoid travelling where possible)…
Darren Williams, Wrexham Council’s Chief Officer for Environment and Technical Services, said: “The latest weather forecast suggests temperatures are likely to remain sub-zero throughout the day and night for the next few days. Everyone should take extreme care with driving and journeys should be avoided if possible.
“We will be undertaking non-stop gritting on our Priority One routes to ensure these remain clear, but members of the public should be aware that any other untreated surfaces are likely to be difficult to negotiate.
“Our Priority One gritting routes will ensure main roads, roads to school and bus routes remain as clear as possible and gritting will now commence around the clock on these routes for at least the next few days.
“Please be aware that disruption to our planned services is envisaged given the forecast, and will impact our attempts to collect waste and recycling collections.
“Can I please ask everyone to take extreme care when out and about over the next few days while we get through this cold snap.”
