Support for our young carers in Wrexham

Wrexham, Conwy and Denbighshire (WCD) Young Carers is a charity that supports young people under the age of 18 who help to look after a member of their family with a medical condition, disability, mental health issue or lives with substances or alcohol misuse issues.

The amount a young carer does to help out can vary, and it may not happen every day, and it can feel demanding especially when there are so many other things to do.

Young carers don’t have to face it alone.

WCD Young Carers believe all young carers are amazing and remind them of this if they forget. Their bespoke support includes fortnightly respite clubs for different age groups, trips and activities in the school holidays, ‘1 to 1’ support during tough times, advocacy as well as awareness raising in schools/colleges and the local community.

Their team of staff and volunteers are passionate about providing play experiences and other respite opportunities to young carers and we encourage them to develop their strengths so they are able to live the life that they want.

You can find further information on the WCD Young Carers website.
