Wrexham-based engineering and manufacturing business, Electromec Ltd, is investing in its future with a major programme of facility improvements.
Electromec Ltd is an industrial electrical engineering contractor based in Wrexham. The company provides electrical installation, maintenance, and control systems integration and bespoke design and manufacture to industrial and commercial customers across the UK.
Over the years, Electromec has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions for clients operating within manufacturing, food production, energy and heavy industry sectors throughout the UK and support from the SME Manufacturing Grant, is helping deliver the next phase of their growth strategy through investment in its facilities and infrastructure.
The project includes the replacement of the company’s workshop roller doors and the installation of solar panels and battery storage systems at its Wrexham premises.
The new roller doors will improve the functionality, security and efficiency of the workshop, creating a more effective manufacturing environment for the production and handling of larger electrical control panels and associated equipment. The improvements are expected to enhance workflow, increase productivity and enable the business to deliver a greater volume of projects as demand continues to grow.
Alongside these upgrades, Electromec is making a significant investment in sustainability through the installation of renewable energy generation and storage technology. The solar panel and battery storage system will reduce the company’s reliance on grid electricity, lower operating costs and significantly decrease the carbon footprint of its manufacturing operations.
The investment reflects Electromec’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing while strengthening the resilience and long-term competitiveness of the business.
As the company continues to expand both its electrical contracting services and control panel manufacturing division, the enhanced facility will provide the capacity required to support future growth. Electromec anticipates creating additional skilled employment opportunities in areas including panel wiring, workshop operations, electrical engineering and apprenticeships.
Mark Pritchard, leader of Wrexham Council, said: “It has been really good to see the different ways in which the investment zone grants have been able to help Wrexham-based businesses. In this case, Electromac Ltd are making improvements to the company’s infrastructure in order to improve their resilience as well as increase employment opportunities.
“Cost-effectiveness and futureproofing is paramount for businesses, and i am pleased to see this Wrexham-based company able to take advantage of these grants to achieve this.”
Cllr Nigel Williams, lead member for economy, business and tourist, said: “I would to thank the team at Electromec for their invitation to visit them to show me what a difference their successful application to the investment zone fund would have on their manufacturing environment, increased efficiency and ongoing sustainability through having the opportunity to produce larger electrical control panels for clients in all sectors they work in.
“I wish them every success for the future.”
Daniel Prince, for Electromec Ltd, said: “This investment represents an important step forward for our business. The improvements to our facilities will allow us to operate more efficiently, increase manufacturing capacity and create a better working environment for our team.
“The installation of solar panels and battery storage also demonstrates our commitment to sustainability, helping us reduce energy costs and lower the environmental impact of our operations.
“As demand for our services continues to grow, these improvements will help us strengthen our control panel manufacturing division, create skilled employment opportunities and position the business for long-term success.”
The council’s business and investment team works closely with businesses across the county borough to help unlock investment, improve productivity and support sustainable business growth. Through the Flintshire and Wrexham Investment Zone, the team is supporting companies to invest in new technologies, modern facilities and workforce development, helping to strengthen the region’s advanced manufacturing and engineering sectors.
Looking ahead, Electromec aims to continue growing its control panel manufacturing operations alongside its established electrical contracting business. The company is exploring opportunities to increase production, develop new markets and expand the reach of its British-designed and manufactured control systems.
The investment highlights how the Flintshire and Wrexham Investment Zone is helping local manufacturers modernise their facilities, improve sustainability and create the foundations for future growth, while reinforcing Wrexham’s reputation as a centre for high-quality engineering and manufacturing excellence.
