A word from Cllr Nigel Williams, Lead Member for Economy and Regeneration: “What a night for Wrexham. When you think the fantasy football dream can’t get any better, we throw probably the biggest celebration party in Wrexhams history with predictions of up to 40,000 attending to cheer on our champion Wrexham AFC men’s and women’s teams.
“I would like to pay special thanks to Wrexham councils events team who have worked tirelessly since the Boreham wood victory with the club and police to put this together in such a short time. I would also like to thank Wrexham councils streetscene team for clearing up after the big celebration and to the police and stewards for keeping everyone safe.
“The economic impact of last night to Wrexham is immeasurable. Speaking to the hospitality sector I know restaurants where booked up and celebratory drinks kept flowing all night from the pubs.
“The worlds press descended on Wrexham with all of the main UK stations in attendance and lots of press from our friends over seas in particular with interest from the USA and Canada. It’s predicted that the victory tour was viewed by several hundred million worldwide.
“We certainly know how to put a party on in Wrexham !!!”
