This is a particularly difficult time and many of us are concerned about health, our family and friends whilst working and shopping for our essentials in a different way and balancing caring responsibilities. As a result there may be times when we need extra support.

The Care First Employee Assistance Programme provides free, confidential access to counsellors and Citizen Advice Bureau trained advisors.

Advice can be sought on many topics including relationships, holidays and events you have booked or have been cancelled, housing, issues with your neighbours, financial concerns.

Counsellors are available 24/7, 365 days of the year and information specialists can provide practical advice Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm.

You may want to save the number in case it is needed outside of normal working hours – freephone 0800 174319.

Care First’s website contains articles, questionnaires pre-recorded and live webinars – and this is being updated daily due to the coronavirus. There are webinars on topics such as stress, resilience and mental health. There is also a well-being assessment and budgeting calculator. Other resources include articles regarding anxiety, dealing with loneliness and self-isolation, staying active at home.

To access all of these free services, visit www.carefirst-lifestyle.co.uk and use the user name Wrexham and  password employee.

Further information is available on SAM: www.internal.wrexham.gov.uk/wordpress/sam/departments/chief-exec/human-resources/occupational-health-documentation/

It is important we all take care of our mental and physical health and access the support available, when needed. If you have any queries about this or need any support please speak to your manager.
