Wrexham in Bloom – Best Floral Display Competition 2024 (Establishment, Pub or Shop)

As part of our entry into the Wales in Bloom competition we’re inviting businesses across the county borough to take part by entering the “Wrexham in Bloom, Best Floral Display” competition.

Wrexham in Bloom Competition Entry Criteria:Points will be awarded for:

Wrexham in Bloom Competition Entry Criteria:

  • The overall display must consist of at least 2 planters, or 2 window boxes or 2 hanging baskets.
  • Any displays should not cause an obstruction or injury.

Points will be awarded for:

  • Environmentally friendly planting: use of home grown plants, peat-free compost, use of perlite beads to retain water, no use of moss. (A maximum of 10 points are available).
  • Creative and imaginative planting schemes. (A maximum of 7 points are available).
  • Overall visual impact (A maximum of 3 points are available).

Entry forms are available by emailing WrexhaminBloom@wrexham.gov.uk and should be returned by Wednesday 12 June.

The competition Judges will visit those that have entered the competition on Wednesday 17July to carry out short-listing before the final judging at a later date.

There’ll be a 1, 2, 3 and Highly Commended awards with all runners up receiving a Letter of Merit.

Cllr Terry Evans, Lead member for Environment, said, “‘Wales in Bloom’ encourages all sections of the community to take part and improve the environment in which they live and work to make Wales a more beautiful place for tourists to visit as well as encouraging residents to make the most of their neighbourhoods.

“I encourage local businesses take part in this competition to help make the county Bloom.”
