We are committed to keeping Wrexham as safe as possible during this pandemic.

We are continuing to monitor the covid-19 situation closely.

Make sure you know about changes to Covid-19 restrictions in Wales

As part of our monitoring we have seen that Wrexham has experienced clusters of positive covid-19 cases in workplaces linked to car sharing by people from different households.

If you normally share a vehicle with people from other households (other than your extended household), you should attempt to find a different way to travel – as under current guidelines people from different households should not share a car.

With the weather improving, it may become more appealing to walk or cycle to work. Apart from the health and wellbeing benefits of exercise, this will also give the virus less chance to spread, helping us beat this deadly virus.

Car pools or other arrangements for sharing vehicles to travel to work if you cannot work from home, with people who are not part of your household or your extended household, are not recommended at the moment because it would be difficult to keep to the rules and maintain physical distancing.

If there is no possible alternative then you will need to maintain good ventilation (keeping the car windows open) wear a mask, facing away from each other may help to reduce the risk of transmission.

Be aware of the surfaces you or others touch. Keep areas such as the steering wheel and door handles clean.

If you come within 2 metres of others, you should avoid physical contact, try to face away from other and keep the time you spend within 2 metres of others as short as possible.

Whilst we have seen the numbers of virus cases reduce across Wrexham and Wales, it’s important to maintain vigilant and avoid pinch-points, giving covid-19 less chance to spread.

???? Restrictions in Wales are gradually easing. Make sure you understand what you can and can’t do ????
