For the rest of this week (up to and including Friday, September 29):
- Put your recycling out on your normal collection day (including food waste).
- If it hasn’t been collected by the end of the day, take it back in.
- If you can, please take some of your recycling to our Household Recycling Centres.
- Don’t put your black bin out.
- Don’t put your green bin out.
As previously reported, Wrexham members of Unite began a three-week strike action at the start of this week (September 25).
Refuse crews have been left short-handed and bin wagons have been delayed leaving their depot on Wrexham Industrial Estate in the mornings due to large numbers of protestors.
As a result, we’re continuing to prioritise food waste and recycling collections during this first week of the strike (September 25-29).
We’re asking households to put out their recycling and food waste on their normal collection day.
Every effort is being made to pick up as much as possible, but unfortunately so far this week we’ve only been able to collect about 80% of the planned collections – so if your recycling hasn’t been collected by the end of the day, please take it back in.
We’re keeping a record of any missed collections and planning how to address these.
If you can, please take some of your recycling to our Household Recycling Centres.
The Household Recycling Centres are open seven days a week, with opening hours extended until 8pm across all three sites.
Remember you’ll need to show proof of address (e.g. a bill or ID to show you live in Wrexham County Borough) when you visit the recycling centres.
