If you will be acting as a proxy for someone at this year’s general election, there is a change in rules that you will need to know about.

A proxy vote is when someone you trust goes to the polling station on your behalf and votes as you have asked them to.

Under the new rules a person can be a proxy for four people, but only two of them can live in the UK, the other two must be overseas voters.

You can apply online for a someone to be your proxy if you just want them to do it for one election.

If you would like someone to be your proxy for a certain amount of time or until you cancel it contact Wrexham Council’s electoral team by calling 01978 292020.
