Many of you will have spent time in your garden over the past week-or-so, whilst the sun has been shining. It’s been lovely weather wise, and if you didn’t sign up for our garden waste collections earlier in the year you may be having a bit of a rethink.
Perhaps your grass is growing a bit longer than you’d like it to be, a few weeds are creeping through, and other bits and bobs around your garden possibly need trimming and pruning.
If that’s the case, then don’t stress! Actually, you can sign up to receive our garden waste collections at any point in the year. But the earlier you join, the more collections you’ll get.
The charge has been frozen at £35 per bin and the service runs from the date you sign up until March 31, 2027 – basically it’s better to sign up sooner rather than later to get the best value.
So if you sign up soon, you’d still get around 10 months’ worth of collections.
How do I pay?
The easiest way to pay for the service is by visiting the garden waste page on our website. A friend or relative can subscribe online on your behalf. You must have an email address to subscribe online.
Cllr David A Bithell, Deputy Leader and Lead Member for Environment, said: “Any residents who would like a bit of support to make an online payment can visit Contact Wrexham based in Wrexham Library, or you can drop into your local housing estate office.
“Just let our staff know you want to pay for your garden waste collections, and they will be able to help you through the process. They can even help to set you up with an email address if you don’t have one. Or if you prefer you can call Streetscene on 01978 298989 to make a card payment.”
No bin stickers
As in the previous year, we won’t be sending out bin stickers as part of the garden waste collection service. Instead, we will be using our logistical system to identify properties that have paid for the latest service. We recommend for you to display your house name or number on your green bin to make it easier for us to match your bin against the details on our system.
Terms and conditions
Updated terms and conditions are available to view on our website. As we no longer send out bin stickers, we don’t send out physical copies of the terms and conditions. You can pick up a physical copy in person from Contact Wrexham if you prefer.
Get recycling tips and info straight to your inbox!
If you sign up to receive our Recycling Tips and Info email alerts we can send you our latest news stories, tips to help you get the most out of your recycling, local advice (including changes that affect you), and details on upcoming campaigns that you can get involved with.
Do you get our bin reminder emails?
When you’re signed up for the alerts you get a handy reminder email the day before your next collection, but it’s also a good way for us to contact you about any disruptions affecting the service. If you want to get our bin reminder alerts, click here and follow the link to sign up.
