Age Alliance Wales is bringing a vibrant and informative Roadshow to Wrexham this summer, offering valuable support and resources to older people, their families and carers.
The free event will take place on Tuesday 7th July 2026 from 10.30-2pm at Ground Floor, Ty Pawb, Market Street, Wrexham LL13 8BB conveniently located with parking and public transport links nearby.
The roadshow will feature a host of organisations working together to support wellbeing, independence and rights of older people across Wales. Attendees can meet with representatives, ask questions and get advice face-to-face.
Councillor Beverley Parry-Jones, Lead Member for Adult Social Care said, “The Age Alliance Wales Roadshow brings together a wide range of organisations who can offer advice, information and practical support to older people, their families and carers in Wrexham.”
“Events like this are so important because they give people the chance to speak to services face-to-face, ask questions and find out what support is available.”

Age Connects North East Wales
Age Connects is a local charity supporting older people in Wrexham and the surrounding areas. It offers services such as befriending, day centres, information and advice, and practical support to help reduce loneliness and promote independence. The organisation works within the community to improve wellbeing and ensure older people stay active, connected, and supported.
Alzheimer’s Society Cymru
A leading dementia charity, Alzheimer’s Society Cymru offers expert advice, emotional support, and guidance for those living with dementia and their carers, helping individuals live well and independently for as long as possible.
Councillor Frank Hemmings, Dementia Ambassador for Alzheimer’s Society said, “I’m pleased that Alzheimer’s Society Cymru will be attending this event in Wrexham, giving people the opportunity to seek advice, guidance and support.”
“For anyone living with dementia, worried about memory loss, or supporting family members and friends, having the chance to ask questions and access trusted information can be incredibly valuable.”
AVOW
AVOW is the County Voluntary Council for Wrexham, supporting voluntary and community groups across the area. It helps local organisations develop and access funding, provides training and advice, and promotes volunteering opportunities. AVOW also works to strengthen community services and improve wellbeing by connecting people with local support networks and encouraging active participation in community life.
Care and Repair
Care & Repair supports older and disabled people by helping them stay safe and independent at home. They offer home repairs, adaptations and advice to make living spaces more accessible and comfortable.
DeafBlind UK
Deafblind UK is a national charity supporting people with combined sight and hearing loss, many of whom are older adults. They offer personalised care, communication assistance, emotional support, and guidance to help individuals maintain independence and stay connected to their communities. Services include home visits, communicator guides, and help with daily tasks, all tailored to individual needs.
Llais
Llais is an independent organisation in Wales that represents the views and experiences of people using health and social care services. It works to ensure that individuals and communities have a strong voice in shaping how services are planned and delivered.
RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People)
RNIB is a UK charity supporting individuals with sight loss, including many older adults. They provide services such as emotional support, practical advice, and resources to help people live independently. RNIB also offers training for professionals supporting older people with visual impairments and advocates for accessible services.
RNID (Royal National Institute for Deaf People) is a UK-based charity that supports people who are deaf, have hearing loss, or experience tinnitus. The organisation works to create a more inclusive society by providing information, campaigning for change, funding research, and offering services like communication support and hearing checks.
The Rainbow Foundation
The Rainbow Foundation is a community-based support hub in Wrexham that provides practical and emotional help to people affected by illness, disability, or caring responsibilities. It offers services such as information and advice, counselling, group activities, and wellbeing support, aiming to reduce isolation and improve quality of life. The centre works closely with local organisations to help individuals and families access the right support in their community.
Wellbeing Hub in Wrexham
Wellbeing Hub Wrexham is a community-focused service that supports people with their mental and emotional health. It provides a safe and welcoming space where individuals can access counselling, wellbeing activities, and advice to help manage stress, anxiety, and other challenges. The centre aims to promote positive mental health, build resilience, and connect people with local support services in the Wrexham area.
Wrexham Citizens Advice
Citizens Advice Wrexham is a local charity that provides free, confidential, and impartial advice to people in Wrexham and the surrounding area. It helps individuals with issues such as debt, housing, benefits, employment, and consumer rights, supporting them to understand their options and resolve problems. The service aims to improve financial stability and wellbeing by empowering people with the knowledge and guidance they need.
