Every day throughout March, we’ll be posting a recycling fact on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

In case you missed any of them, here’s a quick run-down of the first ten…

Fact 1: Cartons can be taken to banks at Wrexham’s three Recycling Centres, but can’t currently be accepted in your green boxes or wheelie boxes.

Fact 2: Did you know that your tea bags and coffee granules can be recycled in your food waste caddy?

Fact 3: Washing your plastic pots, tubs, trays and bottles before they’re collected means a much better quality of recyclable material is sent off to be recycled into new products.

Fact 4: Running shoes (or any shoes) can be recycled at local recycling points.

Fact 5: Please remember to wash all recyclable materials to avoid contaminating clean recycling already collected by the recycling vehicle.

Fact 6: Most of us in Wrexham are washing and squashing our tins, cans and plastic bottles ready for collection.

Fact 7: Plastic bread bags, cling film and bubble wrap aren’t acceptable in the green box/middle wheelie box.

Fact 8: Last year, people in Wrexham recycled 4,000 tonnes of mixed glass.

Fact 9: Please remember to remove all plastic packaging, bubble wrap and polystyrene from cardboard boxes before putting out in the blue sack/top wheelie box.

Fact 10: Running out of compostable liners? Just tie one around the caddy handle on collection day and a new roll will be left for you.
