Energy saving bulletin 5: Replacing halogen spotlights with LEDs

This week, we will dive deeper into the benefits of replacing halogen lighting with LEDs. LEDs have transformed the energy business with their environmentally beneficial influence and outstanding properties. They offer a sustainable alternative to typical lighting solutions. LEDs consume up to 80% less energy than traditional light bulbs and do not contain harmful materials such as mercury. According to the EST, replacing all of your bulbs with LEDs could lower your carbon dioxide emissions by up to 50kg per year, which is comparable to driving your car for 145 miles. Switching to LEDs could also save you around £45 a year on your energy bill.
