Celebrating its 15th year, FOCUS Wales festival is back again next week – taking place from Thursday, May 8 to Saturday, May 10, 2025.
What to expect from FOCUS Wales
If you’ve never been before, here’s a rundown of how it works.
It’s a massive gathering of performers – bringing over 250 music acts from Wales and around the world to perform in Wrexham.
Acts will be performing in lots of venues around the city centre, mainly in pubs, clubs and food spots – as well as a big top tent on the Llwyn Isaf (library field), HWB on Queens Square, and Tŷ Pawb.
There isn’t a set genre of music so there’s lots to choose from, in fact you should expect the unexpected!
Because there’s lots of gigs happening at the same time, once you’ve got a valid ticket you can either choose to carefully plan out your schedule; or simply pop into different venues and see what you like the sound of.
As well as a schedule packed with original music from hundreds of artists, the festival also offers:
- talks from music industry insiders and networking events; as part of the festival conference which spans all 3 days
- Film screenings (with category competitions, plus out of competition awards for ‘Wrexham’s Finest’ and ‘Celtic Stories’) and filmmaking talks at the film festival taking place Friday to Saturday
Grab some tickets!
So, if you’re a music fan, film enthusiast, or even an artist yourself wanting to get connected in the industry – come along and join in the fun!
There’s several different ticket types available, including festival passes that grant access to all shows (capacity permitting), day passes, or individual show tickets for a handful of artists.
To reduce queuing at venues, there will be one central box office located in Tŷ Pawb. So, if you buy any type of ticket then you’ll need to check in and collect your wristband from Tŷ Pawb first before heading to any shows.
Councillor Nigel Williams, Lead Member for Economy, Business and Tourism, said “It’s great to see the festival returning to Wrexham once again, offering residents and visitors alike the opportunity to support local businesses whilst enjoying the huge variety of creative entertainment on offer.”
