Wrexham Council will be celebrating on July 1, as National Registrars’ Day highlights the work of our registrars who are there for you at the best and most difficult of times.
In Wrexham, whether it’s officiating at a wedding or civil partnership, registering a new birth with proud parents, or supporting families as they register the death of a loved one, Wrexham’s Registrars provide an essential role to all of us at some time in our lives. Whatever the situation, the care, compassion and professionalism of our registrars deserves to be appreciated.
Cllr John Pritchard, Lead Member for Governance and Customer said, ‘I want to thank the team for everything you do — from guiding nervous couples, to deciphering spellings no human has ever attempted before. You bring order to chaos and smiles to the service.
You are the only people who can keep calm during a wedding, a birth registration, and a printer jam all in the same hour. Today, you’ve earned a celebratory biscuit, or two!’
The events team at Rossett Hall Hotel said “We are incredibly fortunate to work alongside the Wrexham Registrar Team with our weddings throughout the year. Their professionalism, warmth and dedication are second to none. They play a huge role in creating beautiful and memorable ceremonies for our couples.
The team consistently goes above and beyond, working with our team to ensure every ceremony runs smoothly. They build fantastic relationships with our couples, instantly putting them at ease and making each ceremony feel personal, special and meaningful.
Their support extends far beyond the wedding day itself. They regularly attend and support our wedding open day events, sharing their expertise and guidance with engaged couples. They are always willing to help whenever we have questions or need advice.
The strong working relationship we have built over the years is something we truly value. Their commitment to exceptional service and genuine care for every couple makes them an absolute pleasure to work alongside”.
Andrew from Wrexham and District Funeral Matters Group said ‘We rely on our colleagues in the authorities we work with, to provide an efficient, empathetic service to our families, whilst completing the necessary steps they have to go through. Registration in Wrexham, is one of the services that we never have to be concerned about. The ethos by which they perform is exemplary. We know most of the Registration team by name, which makes an incredible difference to families, giving them the comfort of mind, that their loved one is not just a statistic, but rather someone that we all care for. Thank you for your service, from your colleagues in the funeral sector here in Wrexham and District, and too from the families whom you’ve served all over the years.”
Now an annual event, National Registrars’ Day 2026 will fill social media, introducing Wrexham residents to the registrars and also giving an insight into what the job is like.
