Acton Park is to host its first ever fun dog show with prizes, stalls, craft, displays and more on Sunday 11 February from 11.30am – 4pm. To celebrate the nearly 500 year old sweet chestnut tree entering the EuropeanTree of the Year competition. Locals are encouraged to come and enjoy a fun day for all the family.

11 Dog Show Classes to Enter

  • Most handsome dog
  • Prettiest bitch
  • Best rescue
  • Waggiest tail
  • Best cross breed
  • Golden oldie (7years+)
  • Best/biggest ears
  • Scruffiest dog
  • Dog and owner most alike
  • Cutest puppy (6-12months)
  • Best ball catcher

Class entry is £1 per category or enter 4 classes for £3! (Cash only).

Proceeds will be gifted to Almost Home Dog Rescue, a local charity who have rehomed 1241 dogs to date!

Class registration opens at 11.30am and you can continue to enter classes throughout the day. Judging will begin at 12.15pm with the class timetable advertised on the day and in the programme.

There are rosettes and prizes to be won, including the best in show winner receiving a tree planted in the park in honour of their dog! Super fun to take part or just to watch, we’re hoping to see lots of enthusiastic pet parents and hopeful little ones handling their best friend in the show ring! Don’t forget to see who wins best in show at 3.45pm!

As well as watching an abundance of beautiful dogs strut their stuff in the show ring, there will be displays to entertain young and old.

  • Obedience at 1pm, enjoy watching super well-behaved mutts show off their fancy footwork
  • Scent work at 2pm, marvel at how those powerful dog noses can sniff out smells hidden from sight
  • Tricks at 3pm, be entertained by super fun tricks and have the chance to learn some on the day!

Also on the day there will be a selection of stall holders including: local vets, groomers, charities, games, dog treats and a pet photography opportunity where an award winning photographer will catch your pooch’s best side, as well as food and refreshment trucks if you get peckish.

To ensure everyone has fun it is asked that all dogs remain on-lead at all times, dogs entering classes must be over 6 months old, the judge’s decision is final and please remember this is just a show for fun with no competition points.

There will be free poo bags on the day so make sure to pick up after you dog. The event is free to enter with a free craft activity available, but don’t forget some cash for entering the dog show classes, browsing the stalls and getting a cuppa!

We look forward to seeing you and your lovely dog on the day and don’t forget to vote for the old sweet chestnut tree!
