Singing Streets will return to Wrexham city centre on Saturday 2nd May, bringing a vibrant celebration of music, community and local talent to the heart of the city.
Throughout the day, choirs, bands and performers will take centre stage at multiple locations across the city centre, creating a lively atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
The event forms part of Wrexham’s Year of Wonder, a programme highlighting the stories, creativity and industries that have shaped the county over time, while also shining a light on the people and organisations helping to shape its future.
Singing Streets is also one of the many events reflecting the spirit behind Wrexham’s bid to become UK City of Culture 2029, showing Wrexham’s commitment to championing local talent and bringing communities together.
Mayor of Wrexham, Tina Mannering, said: “I’m proud to be bringing Singing Streets back to Wrexham as part of my legacy as Mayor. This event is a wonderful celebration of community spirit, local talent and the joy that music brings to our county. It reflects everything that is special about Wrexham, from our creativity and our passion to our ability to come together to create something special.”
Cllr Nigel Williams, Lead Member for Business, Economy and Tourism, said: “Singing Streets is a fantastic event, and I’m really pleased to see it returning to Wrexham’s city centre. It creates an exciting atmosphere, encourages people to spend more time in the city and helps boost footfall for local businesses. Events like this make a real difference, bringing residents and visitors together and adding to the vibrancy of the city.”
