As part of our support to Wrexham businesses, we’re extending the Transforming Towns grant to areas beyond the town centre.

Protect the people you love. Download the Covid-19 NHS app.

In addition to the town centre areas now included are:

Acrefair / Cefn Mawr, Chirk, Coedpoeth, Gresford/Marford, Gwersyllt, Llay, Rhos and Ruabon

The grant can be used to purchase items such as outdoor tables, chairs, seating and serving facilities, outdoor awnings and canopies, screening, bollards, planters and social distancing measures. It can’t be used for any other costs such as maintenance or goods and services.

The grant will help to encourage people to return to the high street safely as whilst restrictions such as social distancing and reduced customer numbers are in place and to ensure customers feel confident when visiting premises.

There’s up to £2,000 per application available with a maximum grant of 80% of the overall costs of the purchases.  Collaborative applications are welcome.

Grant applications are made via https://www.wrexham.gov.uk/service/covid-19-support-businesses/transforming-towns-thematic-covid-19-grant

For more information please email grants@wrexham.gov.uk

Cllr Terry Evans, Lead Member for Economy said, “I’m very pleased we’ve been able to extend this grant to cover other areas who need the support of their communities if they are to provide long term resilience throughout the coming months. By providing a safe and secure place for their customers they will help restore customer confidence.”

Download the Covid-19 NHS app…and help keep Wrexham safe this autumn.
