Did you know victims of persistent anti-social behaviour (ASB) have the right to request a case review in certain circumstances?
Any person who has reported three incidents of anti-social behaviour to agencies within a six-month period can request an ASB case review for consideration.
The Community Trigger (ASB Case Review) can be used if you (as the individual victim) have done the following:
- Made a report to us (Wrexham County Borough Council), North Wales Police, a registered landlord or the health board, about at least three incidents of anti-social behaviour in a six-month period
- Reported each of these incidents within one month of the incident occurring
- You believe your complaint has not been appropriately addressed or no action has been taken
The ASB Case Review process can’t be used to report general acts of crime, including hate crime or anti-social behaviour.
As we’re fresh of the back of Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week, it’s a good opportunity to remind ourselves about the process.
Cllr Paul Roberts, Lead Member for Partnerships and Community Safety, said: “Anti-social behaviour can be uncomfortable and intimidating, and at its worst it can ruin lives and devastate communities. It’s important to bring awareness to the ASB Case Review process as a means of keeping residents safe.”
You can learn more about the ASB Case Review process on our website.
