The season hasn’t even started and there is great news for Wrexham AFC fans.
When the 2026/27 season begins on August 22, Wrexham’s park and ride will also reopen its gates providing an easy, safe, cheap and convenient service.
Just like last year, the service will run for all home matches – cup and league – and costs just £1 return from the Ruthin Road car park to the Racecourse ground and back again at the end of the match.
The buses run every 20 minutes from 2 hours before kick-off and again every 20 minutes for five journeys after the match. Times will be published before each home fixture.
Councillor David A Bithell, deputy leader of the council and lead member for environment, said: “I’m so pleased that the Ruthin Road park and ride is returning for another season. We have worked with Arriva North West & Wales for the last couple of years to make sure this is an affordable and reliable service and, if you didn’t use it last season, I would recommend giving it a try.
“Match day parking is always challenging so it would be great to see fans parking at Ruthin Road – remember it’s free to park and the park and ride is just £1 return.”
By providing another parking option, this service also aims to prevent the illegal, dangerous and inconsiderate parking that does unfortunately happen around each match. Parking on Ruthin Road, or one of the city centre car parks is better for both fans who are going to the match (no fines!) and residents who live within walking distance of the Racecourse.
If you don’t want to drive to the matches…
If you don’t want to drive to the matches, why not catch the bus and pay less when you show the driver your match ticket?
Buy a Wrexham Zone Ticket (check here for the routes) and pay Adult £3/Child £2 – that’s a saving of up to £2.60.
After the match there is no rush to travel back home as day tickets are valid until 11.59pm that day, so you can stay in the city centre to celebrate another win!
